The Raptors didn’t lose the game today, the Ref’s won the game for the Nets.

It was terrible.  No fouls were being called against NJ, but the Raptors were getting everything called against them.  What a terrible thing to have happen.  The crowd is into the game and the Refs call everything against the home team.  No home team favoritism here.

Weekends at the cottage used to be a joy. No worries, just volleyball, swimming, boating and fun.

Now they have changed a bit. I used to own a domain called www.scarletpark.com and used it to publish pictures of friends and family that also have cottages in our community. It was a harmless little site.

However, the President of the community felt that it posed a threat, that people would be able to ‘find us’ on the internet and that is bad. That part alone didn’t bother me that much, however he took it upon himself to bring it up in a forum of ALL the park members and it was not cool. By the way, he is my next door neighbour at the cottage. He could have just asked me to remove it and I would have obliged.

The funny thing is, they haven’t even registered www.scarletpark.ca and they are worried about my dot-com site. Little do they realize that ANYONE ANYWHERE can post directions to the park, talk about it or anything they want without having a www.scarletpark.whatever website. I could do that here. But I won’t.

I will post the pictures I had up there. I will continue to talk about the cottage and the goings on. I just won’t say where it is. As a matter of fact, I think I’ll even use a psyeudonym for the park, like Parlet Scark. That way, nobody will find it….. :o )

I am ENGAGED!!

Can you believe that someone actually WANTS to marry me?

It was a great proposal, if I do say so myself. Angie came home from Guides and the entire place was dark. I had placed candles on the floor leading her to the kitchen where there was a note on the counter. The note was actually a riddle in poem form that she had to figure out where I was.

I was in the Music Garden across the street from our condo, wearing a tux. I had music playing in the background and 2 dozen long stem red roses in my hand. She thought it was just for our 2nd anniversary dating.

Then I produced a candy ring and told her that it was for her, but what colour was it? She responded that it was purple, but when she looked at it (after it was on her finger) it was the diamond!

I then got down on one knee and said “I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, would you marry me?” All she kept saying was “ Oh my God! Are you joking?” (I guess I play a few practical jokes)

I’m getting married, I’m getting married, la la la la la la la.

I was looking through some of the jokes that I’ve sent out over the years and I found this in with all the rest. It was posted on September 12th, 2001.

I think in light of all the tragedy and chaos in the world right now, we all need a good laugh. It has been really difficult to understand what is going on and why. I sat in front of the tv yesterday, dumbfounded, watching the events unfold. After a couple hours I channel surfed to try and find anything to help me lighten up, to no avail. So now, let’s not forget those who perished, but start the process of healing with some humour.

How can these people be employed? I watched a game the other night between San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors that was terribly refed. There were so many bad calls it was difficult to even watch. I think they league should review games like this and fire the ones making all the bad calls.

We pay money to see the players, not the ref’s.

I love playing volleyball. It is such a great game. I participated in a tournament this weekend and had a blast. My team, while not the strongest, played very well and we were competitive in all our games. We lost in the semi-finals but were still placed 5th overall. I was really proud of my whole team for how we performed together, even though it was our first real time playing together.

I’m tired of dealing with the lowest common denominator. I’m tired of having to work down to other people’s level. I’m tired of having to wait for other people to catch up. I’m tired of having to be politically correct. I’m tired of people who think that the laws of the road don’t apply to them. I’m tired of having to make excuses for other people.

Basically, I’m tired.
